Responsible gambling
This page carries the practical information: the age limit, where help is available in Nigeria, and who to complain to about an operator now that licensing has moved to the states. It is linked from the footer of every page on this site.
The age is 18
Eighteen is the threshold for betting in Nigeria and it applies to every operator on this list. Accounts opened on someone else's identity are the ordinary route around it and they fail at the same point every time, which is verification before a withdrawal rather than registration.
Where to get help
Gamble Alert is the Nigerian help line, on +234 916 295 7989, and states that it operates around the clock. It is a phone line rather than a form, which matters if you are reading this on a device where opening a chat widget costs data you would rather keep.
Complaints go to a state, not a national body
This changed on 22 November 2024, when the Supreme Court held that betting is a residual matter for the states and struck down national competence over it. There is no national gambling regulator in Nigeria now. An operator answers to the state that licensed it: the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority in Lagos, the FCTA Lottery Regulatory Office in the Federal Capital Territory, and around 22 further states under a reciprocity arrangement. Before you complain, find which body the operator names in its own footer, because the six read for this site name different ones and one names none.
What this site does not know about the tools
The six operator sites read on 21 August 2026 were read for licence text, entry minimums, withdrawal wording and, where published, game counts. Deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion switches were not among the fields recorded, so this site cannot tell you which brand offers which of them, and it will not fill that gap with an assumption. Check the account settings of the operator you actually use.
Signs worth taking seriously
Staking money set aside for something else, opening a second account after a first one hit a limit, and betting to recover a specific loss rather than because a fixture looked wrong are the three that show up before the others. The two-odds card is where this tends to start, because a low price makes a large number of entries feel small.
